Dear Friends,
As most of you are aware, my sister Andrea has been struggling with her health after being diagnosed with the Covid Virus. On August 15, 2021 she was found unresponsive and rushed to the hospital by ambulance in dire condition and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. At the time of her admission her vital signs were extremely troubling. She had a temperature of only 80 degrees, her blood pressure was 70/30, and her blood sugar was off the charts. In addition, she had lost 35 pounds in the few weeks leading up to her hospitalization. Andrea has been slowly recovering and was released earlier this week. However, she remains in fragile condition, requires the use of oxygen, and is currently reliant on a walker until she is able to rebuild her strength. Her recovery will require extensive Physical Therapy, pharmacy expenses, the rental of oxygen tanks and durable medical equipment. In addition to the EMT/Ambulance services and much of the care she received while in the hospital, these items are NOT covered by her limited Health Insurance.
The rapid decline in Andrea's health came at a particularly bad time as her divorce was finalized while she was in the hospital and was in the process of selling and moving out of the home she has owned for the past 20 years. This will require extensive assistance as she remains too weak to personally complete the packing and moving process.
Thank you so much for considering making a contribution to help with Andrea's mounting medical expenses while she recovers from this terrible virus. All funds will be sent directly to Andrea to use at her discretion.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Cowin
