Andrea Dorwart Memorial Scholarship Fund

Hi, my name is Stephanie Dorwart. Recently, my mother Andrea Dorwart passed away following a 17 year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. My mother was an avid artist, and she taught in the New Kensington Arnold School District for many years. Throughout her career, she taught students ranging from kindergarten to high school students. During her tenure, she donated her time as the sponsor for the majorettes, prom and yearbook. Her dedication and caring endured her to students of all ages. To honor her memory, I am establishing a Memorial Scholarship in her name to support students from Valley High School that would like to further their education in the fine arts. My mother created courses at Valley in painting and drawing, as well as led a yearbook staff to win a national championship award for the 1999 book themed "Redefined." My hope is to raise at least $5,000.00, so that a $1,000.00 scholarship can be offered in her name for the next 5 years. If more money is raised, the amount per student and/or the term of the scholarship will be increased. All money will go directly to the fund (minus the small GoFundMe fee.
