Greetings! I want to thank you for viewing my page. I've established this page is to seek help from friends, family and the community.
I'm asking for your immediate help to subsidize the cost of my cancer treatment.
In this August 2019, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I have a tumor that was 6 inches in diameter. My life has changed significantly since that diagnosis. I was scared! All I could think of was "I cannot leave my family whom I love, and who loves me". I knew I would be in a fight for my life.
Cancer is a deadly, nasty and painful disease. I does not care who you are. Chemotherapy treatments are debilitating and renders me immobile where I literally lie on my bed in a little ball and wait until the pain subsides. For years I have participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month events to support the cause, as well as stand beside countless friends who have fought bravely and courageously, surviving and some not surviving. I never realized that I one day I would become one of the victims of this deadly disease that affects so many women and men.
I want to impress upon you that it takes a village to fight against this deadly disease, therefore I'm soliciting your help. My family and I are not wealthy folks. We have jobs that do not offer medical benefits; therefore, we must purchase benefits on the exchange.
In January 2020, our insurance, due to government changes in health care coverage, which used to cover 80% of my cost, will only cover 60%. The monthly premium amount has jumped up 400%, our deductibles and coinsurance has increased to over $16,500. Quite simply, we cannot afford this! When you need your insurance the most, its not there for you! Additionally, our basic living expenses have been impacted because our income has drastically been cut by 60%, because I cannot work. This disease is not fair!
This unexpected illness has dissolved all of our financial resources, and assets. Our fundraising goal is $20,000 to pay for our insurance, non covered medical expenses, drug costs, testing and short-term living expenses.
