Our daughter Andrea passed away on April 13, 2020 at the age of 47. She was an unconditional lover of all animals, especially cats. She had just started a small business called Claws N'Paws Pet Sitting and had established friendships with a number of animal shelters and animal rescue groups in our area. Her intense love of animals, her deep and personal desire to care for them,  and her unselfish willingness to support others who felt the same way was cut short after she lost  a long eight year battle  with recurring  attacks of acute pancreatitis.

Andrea left behind five cats, all of which were rescue cats. Her favorite Vinny, has a number of medical issues and requires daily care. Bella suffers from an anxiety disorder. Stormy Jones is deaf but otherwise healthy. Franco and Cheetara are the newest members of the family. 

We are creating this GoFundMe campaign to raise money for two important purposes. One, we want to ensure that Andrea's five cats receive the care and support they need so that we can keep them together as her cat family.  Two, we want to create an enduring Memorial Fund to raise money to enable us to provide grants  in Andrea's name to small, independent animal shelters and rescue groups that do not have sufficient funding to cover all of their operating expenses and that have difficulty raising those funds on their own. 

Andrea passed away on April 13. Many of her friends have asked us how they can help. We thought that establishing a Memorial Fund exclusively designed to help others who provide care and support to  animals would be a fitting tribute to this young woman whose life's work centered on doing just that.
