On December 22, 2020 I received the most devastating news a person would ever want to hear. I received a phone call from my niece telling me that my brother was no longer with us. Shocked and in disbelief, I set out to get the details of what happened, and found that he had been shot and killed at the hands of a Columbus Ohio Police Officer early that morning. Now, 3 days before Christmas, our family is missing a loved one that will never come back home while the police officer is out free to spend time with his family.
My name is Shawna Barnett, and I am the eldest sister of Andre M. Hill. My brother meant the world to me! He was the ultimate family man that loved his family, a great brother, father, and awesome grandfather to his grandchildren that meant the world to him! He was also a great friend with a kind and giving spirit.
This fund is established to cover funeral and burial expenses, mental and grief counseling and to assist our family in the days to come as we continue to seek justice for Andre Hill. A portion of these funds will also go to the Estate of Andre Hill for the benefit and care of his daughter, and his 3 grandchildren (ages 3,4, and 6) and their educational funds.
