- He did a charity boxing match to raise money for The Pythian Club, a Nottingham-based youth organisation.
- earlier this year Andre received a nomination for the Nottingham Black Achievers for an award for his community work coming 2nd out of 200 people.
If you know him you know and feel his positive and optimistic energy!
He has been a friend to many and has created empowering and positive memories for all people he has encountered! He has been a positive Black male role model for me and many others, he embodies the best of
strong, committed and dedicated masculinity which is something we so desperately need in the community! He is our connector, culture maker, our musical guru, a fun friend and central part of the community!

We live in a world full of negative messages and media which often divides us as opposed to bringing us together! This fundraiser is an invitation to celebrate positive role models in the community, who embody the best parts of us! Please join us in affirming, celebrating my father who has dedicated himself to bringing people together in harmony, love, action and empowerment of self and others!
Music is the fountain of eternal youth for my Dad! His passion is for music and bringing drumming to the community - 'Power of the Drums'!
In September last year, he unexpectedly developed blurred vision and suffered from intense head pains. After tests, the doctors diagnosed my Dad with head and neck cancer, at stage 4. This has spread to his lungs, arm bones, liver and spine. Since then, he has received chemotherapy, radiotherapy and is now having Immunotherapy.
Further down the line, my dad will look into holistic and alternatives therapies.
Please come and expect a day full of group drumming , music, performances from critically acclaimed gospel artist Freddie Kofi, Poetry from legendary ‘Black Drop’ led by Michelle ‘Mother Hubbard’, participate with specialist, experienced and well-reknown djembe drummers Milla and Jabbi, Jude Finlay playing Kora, Face Painting from Haylos glitter girls and more performers to be announced!
Art, food, drinks and more. Let’s enjoy the day of “Making Memories” and make this happen!
