A brief update 

The Andele- Hegbe family and I extend our sincerest thanks for the many of you who have donated so generously and shared this GoFundMe page. Bella wants to thank each of you individually but given all she has to manage at the moment that's just not possible. She will be in touch at the soonest.

Bella and Jo continue to assess the damage and all that has happened. They are so grateful that everyone was spared and there were no injuries. While there is tremendous gratitude there is also immense loss. They have lost everything, despite Herculean efforts (and Jo has tried) nothing is salvageable. I have added some updated photos of the damage.

On June 22, 2022, the Andele-Hegbe Family suffered an unimaginable loss. While away at their son’s lacrosse tournament their home was struck by lightning and quickly became engulfed in flames. The family home suffered extensive damage and is uninhabitable.

 

 

Many of you know the Andele-Hegbe family. Dr. Andele is a practicing physician at Meritus Women’s Health at Professional Court. She and her husband Jo (Komi) have raised their three kids Kayla, Joshua and Noah in the Hagerstown area for the last 20 years. They are active in our community; they attend Covenant Presbyterian Church, and their children attend school at Smithsburg high school and Northern Middle school.

 

I have had a long friendship with the Andele-Hegbe family, Bella is like a sister and her kids are like my very own. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for this family and anyone who has had a child delivered by Dr. Andele would tell you the same. They are a deserving and wonderful family and while this was an unforeseen tragedy, we can help them to get through this.

 

The family’s needs are great, and any monetary contributions would aide them in this difficult time. While no amount of money can replace what has been lost, your contribution will allow them to begin to start over. Please know your contributions will go directly to the family to be used by them in the rebuilding of their lives. I have spoken to Bella, and this is the only gofundme account that she is authorizing on behalf of her family. I thank you in advance for your sincere prayers and contributions.
