With tearful hearts, we come to you today to ask for help for our beloved Wilfredo "Willie P." Perez—a loving father, a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, and a retired seaman who spent his life providing for his family. He has always been a strong and selfless man, putting others before himself, but today, he is in the fight of his life—a battle against Stage 4 Lung Cancer (Adenocarcinoma) and Progressive Pneumonia.

A Life Built on Sacrifice

For decades, Willie worked tirelessly across the seas to ensure his children had food on the table, a good education, and a better future. He missed birthdays, Christmases, and countless milestones—all so his family could have a better life. He endured loneliness, exhaustion, and the dangers of being far from home, always reassuring his family that he was okay, even when he wasn’t.

But now, when he should be enjoying his well-earned retirement, life has dealt him an unimaginable blow.

The Devastating Diagnosis

In January 2025, Willie was admitted to GentriMed after experiencing difficulty breathing and unbearable fatigue. We hoped it was just an infection, something treatable, something temporary. But after multiple tests, scans, and a biopsy, our worst nightmare became reality: Stage 4 Lung Cancer. The cancer had already spread, making treatment an uphill battle.

His condition quickly worsened, and just weeks ago, he was rushed to the emergency room at St. Luke’s Medical Center BGC, barely able to breathe. Seeing him struggle, gasping for air, weak and in pain, broke our hearts into pieces. No one should have to suffer this way.

A Father's Love That Never Fades

Even as he lies in a hospital bed, frail and exhausted, Willie still worries about his family. Instead of focusing on his pain, he asks about the bills. He whispers apologies, feeling like a burden, not realizing that he is the heart of our family—our hero.

His beloved wife never leaves his side, staying with him at the hospital despite her own exhaustion, refusing to let him feel alone in his suffering.

Meanwhile, their three children remain at home in Cavite, balancing everything on their young shoulders—taking care of the household, managing the responsibilities their father once carried, and traveling back and forth to visit their parents while also trying to continue their studies. They are doing their best to stay strong, but the weight of this situation is overwhelming.
