Help my family rebuild our home

Hi, my name is Emra and I’m Heidi Roude’s daughter. We live in Winter Springs, Florida. On Wednesday night (09/28) Hurricane Ian hit Orlando. Even though we were prepared, you can only do so much to prevent hurricane damage. It started off slow and then rapidly increased to batter our home. The winds were so fast and water rose exponentially. Within just a few hours of the storm the water had entered our home. Once it started, little did we know how fast the rest would come. Soon after, a 4x4 plank flew through the window as the wind whipped around the house. Water then started to pour into our house even more. Around 4 am, we decided we could no longer stay there anymore because it was unsafe. By the time we left, the water level in the house was up to our chest. We had to make the tough choice of leaving everything in the house behind. We had called another family member to try and pick us up, but our street was too flooded to try and drive to the house. In the hurricane, we had to walk to 434 in waist deep water with our doggo who swam most of the way. Once we were taken to our family members house, we had to just wait it out until the storm passed. The following day, we returned to our house and the place we once called home had been beyond destroyed. The water level was so high it was 4 feet up on the wall. There was dirt, sewage, muck, frogs, and insects everywhere. The water and sewage had ruined everything. I put together this fundraiser to support my mom through this tough time. It hurts my heart to know she won’t have somewhere to call home for the next few months. These funds will help cover any damage costs and help her with living costs while she stays with friends and family members. Anything helps in these tough times, thank you!
