Anaya needs your help after brain damage

Our life changed on the 4th of March 2017.
I had healthy pregnancy until my contractions started. I went to the hospital 4 times. Then they admitted me and labour started, but something went wrong. My girls tones dropped extremely down. And buzz was pressed. Doctors and nurses run to the room and took me for emergency c section. I had a full anaesthetic and when I woke my little one and husband was not near me. They told me that she is fine, but she will be transfer to another hospital for cooling treatment.
Before transfer I had 1 min to see her for first time. It was really hard time, not as I dreamed to meet my child first time. She was in coma and cold...  It was heartbreaking...

Luckily they transfer me to the same hospital late in the evening so I could be near my daughter where she received cooling therapy. For the first three days Anaya received cooling treatment where her core temperature was lowered to 34 degrees and was in coma to stop further brain damage. Also she started having seizures.

After 5 days we had first few minutes cuddles. It was the scariest cuddle ever. But it was really good day as they also took her off the ventilator.

On day 6 she opened first time eyes and start moving.  On day 7 first outfit..

Still we had up and downs. Two times we notice seizure activity that means more medications. Also not sucking reflect. So she was fed with NG tube. Every day there has been something new, something scary, something completely life changing. She spend her 1st month, 1st Mothers day in the hospital. After 5 weeks she was transfer to our local hospital. There we started to give bottle. It was slowly but at least moving forward. We wanted to start living normal life as soon as possible. After almost 7 weeks in the hospital she came home. And we started to live life. To attempt normal life.

And here we are.. 3 years later. It was so many ups and down. Anaya has been defined as having Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) grade three. This is of course the most severe grading for oxygen starvation. Anaya also has spastic cerebral palsy. Her limbs are so spastic that its hard for her to move. But her trunk is very weak. . Also Anaya has epilepsy and CVI. She is fed through PEG (tube in her belly where food goes) as she has unsafe swallow ( eating orally her food goes to the lungs so no feeding orally).
Doctors still can't tell her future, its a wait and see game. Its definitely going to be challenging. Essentially Anaya has potential IF she receives enough help as she requires daily therapy and although therapies are brilliant so far the NHS simply cannot provide physiotherapy with the frequency she requires.

We are trying to take Anaya twice a year to Slovakia Adeli rehabilitation centre for two weeks intensive therapy where she receives 6 times a week physiotherapy, massage, oxygen therapy, laser therapy, SALT, manual therapy and etc.  She is always coming home much more stronger. One rehabilitation session with travel and accomondation cost around £4500. And she needs to go there twice a year if we dont want to loose what she learned.

2018 april in Adeli
Oxygen and laser therapy
2019 February in Adeli Slovakia
2019 July in Euromed Poland
2019 September Adeli in Slovakia

Also we saw an amazing improvement after Stem Cells therapy. We been twice in Panama Stem Cells Institute.
After first round in 2019 we noticed a big improvement. Anaya is diagnosed with CVI (cerebral visual impairment). She didnt track, didnt follow toys. After stem cells can take up to 6 months to see improvement. It was first thing where we saw improvement - it was her vision. She started to smile when we are coming near her, she started to see toys. She started to make new sounds. We know when she is happy, when she is upset, or when she needs to change nappy.  She responds when we are talking with her and ''talks'' back in her own way.  Its a huge for us...

Anaya had second round of stem cell in January 2020. To see improvement takes up to 6 months. And its very important to work intensive as possible as this way new cells learns new ''job''. Unfortunately due to whats happening around the world we are lock down in our home. And trying to do daily exercises and massage on our own. But its not strong enough for Anaya's needs. But we already noticing improvement as Anaya is understanding more and more.

Our goal to take Anaya back to Stem Cells Institute and Adeli when just everything will calm down and it will be safe to do it.

- Panama Stem Cells treatment (£15k with travel expensive). Its recommended to have 3 rounds to have the best results. It would be our 3rd round.
- Adeli rehabilitation centre in Slovakia (one session for two weeks included 6 days a week cost £4500 included therapies, travel and accommodation expensive.  Recommendation to go there twice a year)

In every area Anaya requires more support than the otherwise brilliant NHS can supply and you can see it is excruciatingly expensive.
The fact is Anaya needs help and we need to raise a lot of money to give her the help she needs.
Anaya is an incredible girl who has amazed us all so far. With hard work we can see she improves.
We want to give her every opportunity to continue to surprise us. I don’t think we could live with ourselves if we didn’t give her a chance, but that chance just costs lots and lots of money.

This page is a starting point for us to give information about our fundraising efforts which will develop over time. Thank you for visiting and thank you for your support. If you cant donate, please share. Its mean a lot to us.  Also we would appreciate for your prayers (duas).  That Anaya would be healthy and happy girl
