My name is Ylvia Asal, and I am the founder of Ylvia Asal Studio – Anatolian Cultures and Arts in Haddonfield, New Jersey.

My mission is to preserve, share, and reimagine Anatolian traditional arts through handmade creations, cultural education, workshops, and community engagement.

Inspired by the generations of women who preserved their stories and knowledge through needle and thread, I use traditional Oya lace-making, textiles, embroidery, and mixed-media art to connect the past with the present. Through my studio, I create opportunities for people to discover traditional art forms, explore cultural heritage, learn new skills, and connect through creativity.

Art is more than what we create. It is what we preserve, what we share, and what we pass on to future generations.
