Anais’ Road to Recovery

Hello Family and Friends,

We have made this GoFundMe for our baby girl Anais and her medical expenses. Anais was diagnosed with Q22 Deletion Syndrome or DiGeorge Syndrome. This syndrome has the potential to impact every system in the body and can therefore lead to a wide-range of health issues. Because of this Anais was born with Truncus Arteriosus - a birth defect that ocurres when the blood vessel coming out of the heart fails to separate completely during development, leaving a connection between the Aorta and Pulmonary Artery. Just 3 hours after birth, Anais was admitted into the CCU (cardiology care unit) at the Children’s Hospital in Omaha where she had heart surgery to correct her heart defect at five days old. Unfortunately, due to various complications after surgery and unexpected seizures, Anais had to stay in the hospital for one month, until she was stable. Thankfully after a team of over 9 Doctors and Specialists in various fields came together, Anais’ health improved drastically, surprising her Drs.

Although Anais is home and in stable condition she still faces a long recovery. Due to aspiration to the lungs she cannot take a bottle and has to be feed through a tube. We are currently working with a Speech Therapist to hopefully correct the issue while consulting with other doctors at the children’s hospital.

This fund will help us cover Anais’ hospital stay expenses, speech therapist, and our follow up consultation expenses that are 3 hours away from our city. We thank our families and friends for being such great support systems!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
