Tita Anafel is the treasure of our family and has always been our happy pill. She has Down syndrome and a congenital hole in her heart, which means she’s needed constant care and has always been at home with us. Last week, she celebrated her 49th birthday in the hospital, surrounded by our family who love her dearly.

On 2/21, Anafel was admitted to the hospital after developing pneumonia. Her oxygen levels have been unstable ever since, and she’s now battling pulmonary edema on top of her existing heart condition which led to her being transferred to the ICU. It’s been a difficult time for all of us, seeing her in the hospital and not being able to bring her home yet.
