Help Malian girl finish last year of college

Ana Coulibaly came to the United States at 16, eager for the education that would have been nearly impossible in Mali, one of the world’s poorest countries. She arrived in upstate New York speaking virtually no English, knowing just her host family.  A few short years later she graduated with honors from the local Catholic high school and, in 2016, was accepted at Ithaca College where she has since earned a 3.8 GPA and was elected president of the African Students Association. Even with her merit-based scholarships and the multiple jobs she has been holding down, she hasn’t been able to make her tuition costs and needed to supplement them with student loans. But now, facing her senior year, she risks being unable to complete her degree as funding dwindles. Her single mother in Mali doesn’t have the resources to help fund. If that happens, she will have to return to Mali immediately because of US immigration policies. Any help – whatever you can give – would go directly to her tuition costs.  This is an investment in a girl who, having overcome great odds to get a good education, plans to return to Mali and make a difference in the lives of other girls.
