Ana Wakefield Recovery

Donation protected
Donations to this GoFundMe account are specifically for building an ADU for Ana. Donations in excess of the amount needed for the ADU project will go towards extensive medical bills, lost scholarship, and ongoing care as she continues in her recovery process.

I have frequently been asked, “Is there is anything we can do to help?”

Now there is. On October 18, Ana lost all independence. Since then, she has been working hard every day and taking steps to get it back.

Clackamas County recently granted our request to allow Ana to have an ADU (auxiliary dwelling unit), essentially a “mother-in-law apartment."  There is already a building in place, but it will need to be converted to a small apartment (approximately 800-900 sf) with a kitchen, bath, bedroom and living room area. She will still need a caretaker with her as she continues to improve, but this is a huge step for Ana on her journey to independence. Lord willing, she will be able to live there for years to come.

While Ana is at BIRC (brain injury rehab center) over the next two months, we will be attempting to complete as much of the ADU as possible.

Because of the crash, Ana, and our entire family, have been forced to rely on others for support - financially and otherwise. This project is no different. We are relying on God to work through the community around us to supply workers, materials, and finances necessary to complete this project.

Volunteers/Material Contributions: My brother, Ken, has volunteered to help oversee the project, from start to finish.  If you are willing to participate in any fashion (volunteering, donations, materials, etc.), please let him know. He can be reached at [phone redacted] or [email redacted]. Please state who you are, your preferred method of contact (text or email), and what you would be willing to do.

Financial Contributions: If you wish to make a financial contribution toward this project, you can do so by using this GoFundMe account. The funds donated will go towards costs incurred for this project - hook up costs for utilities, driveway, building materials, remodel, etc. We estimate that it will cost $50,000-60,000 to complete the remodel.

As always, thank you to so many for your ongoing support for Ana and our family. You have helped open so many doors and continue to encourage and keep us going each day.
