Ana Maria Carcamo was a caring mother, wife, sister and friend who worked as a Clinical Laboratory Technician for over 16 years. She died of Covid-19 on August 18, 2021 at age 39. Ana lived in San Pedro Sula, Honduras with her husband and two children, Gustavo (16 yrs old) and Valeria (15 yrs old).
With over 331k Covid cases and 8,704 reported deaths in Honduras, overwhelmed hospitals with no beds to offer left Ana Maria struggling to find adequate medical treatment. Tragically, she spent the last minutes of her life in a taxi seeking urgent medical care. Her husband who also tested positive for Covid-19 and was in ICU and unable to be by her side.
The emotional impact and mental distress that this loss has had on Ana Maria's two children is immense. Extended family members are standing in the gap for them, but they need support. Your donation will go toward funeral services for Ana Maria, medical expenses for their father and living expenses for her two teenagers.
