Support Heather's Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
In August of 2024, my beautiful mother Heather was diagnosed with Stage 2A Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) breast cancer. The initial treatment plan included a double mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. At the time, she was told the cancer had been caught early and that, following treatment, she should make a full recovery. However, after her initial surgery, she experienced complications that required two additional operations. She had a severe allergic reaction to the injection, which resulted in hospitalization. During her stay, additional testing revealed that the cancer had returned and progressed. The oncologist informed us that her diagnosis had advanced to Stage 4. The cancer had returned to both breasts, spread to her lymph nodes, and metastasized to both of her lungs. Although a cure is no longer possible, her oncologist is focused on managing the disease and prolonging her life for as long as possible. She is now undergoing ongoing treatment and must receive scans every three months to monitor the progression of the disease.
