I am Everest Yam Gurung (Kamal), and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart as I launch a campaign to provide Urgent relief for the people of Ilam, Nepal, who have been profoundly impacted by recent floods.

On October 4, 2025, relentless monsoon rains unleashed catastrophic landslides and floods, claiming the lives of at least 60 individuals across Nepal, with a heartbreakingly high toll of 39 in Ilam, my beloved hometown. This tragedy unfolded during Dashain, our largest festival, a time meant for family gatherings and celebration. Instead, it brought heartbreak and devastation.

Now, many people live in a makeshift tent out in the field, each day a struggle for survival with limited access to clean water, food, and medical care. Hundreds of families share their pain, trapped in a situation made worse by the persistent rainfall that hinders rescue efforts.

Yet, amid this overwhelming despair, a flicker of hope remains. We urgently need compassionate volunteers and generous hearts to come forward and support those in desperate need. Together, we can help rebuild lives and restore hope in our community.

आज मेरो मन धेरै ठूलो भारी गरेर यहाँहरु समक्ष हात वडाइ रहेको छु। प्राय म कुनै पनि सहयोग गर्दा कसैलाई पनि भन्ने गरेको थिएन। तर आज भन्न बाध्य भइरहेको छु कारण यहाँको साथ पाए भने केही गर्न सक्छु कि जस्तो लाग्यो।

मेरो जन्मस्थान इलाम जहाँ अहिले बाढी पहिरोले तहसनहस बनाएको छ।३९ जना व्यक्तिहरूले ज्यान गुमाइसक्नुभएको छ भने एकजनाले हराइरहनु भएको छ कैयौ घरहरु कहाँ छ त्यो लेखाजोखा भएको छैन कैयौँ व्यक्तिहरू घाइते भएका छन्। कैयौँले आफन्त गुमाए भने कैयौँले सर्वस्व गुमाएका छन् र उहाहरु बााहिर गोठको वसााइ हारिरहेको छ।

यस्तो बेला म प्रवासमा भएतापनि चुप लागेर बस्न सकिन त्यसैले यहाँहरु समक्ष सहयोगको हात बढाइरहेको छु। सक्नुहुन्छ भने जतिसुकै सानो रकम किन नहोस् सहयोग गरिदिनु होला त्यो एकदमै प्रेरणादायी हुनेछ ।

मेरो अनुरोध यहाँहरुले एक दिन बाहिर नगएर वा थोरै खर्च कटौती गरेर भएपनि अलिकति सहयोग गरी दिनुहोस् है कारण हजुरहरूको सानो सहयोगले गर्दा मेरो मित्रहरू आफन्तहरुको लागि मैले छारी दिलाउन सकुँ। न्यानो कपडा वा चाहिँदो मात्रामा भोजन /आहारा दिन सकुँ। त्यसैगरी बालबालिका विद्यालय जाने बाटोघाटो मा सानो काठको वा बाँसको भएपनि आपतकालीन पुल बनाएर विद्यार्थीलाई स्कुल पठाउन सकुँ।

म यहाँलाई यो वचन दिन्छु कि मैले पनि यहाँहरु सँगै ५०० पाउण्ड सहयोग गरेको छु।

यहाहरुको मेहनतले कमाएर दिनुभएको थोपा थोपा पसिनाले अर्जिएको रकम म इमान्दार साथ वितरण वा सही ठाउँमा सदुपयोग गर्नेछु।
