In the mad rush in the Medina in Marrakech we found a tiny kitten lying in a black puddle barely able to walk.

People stepped around her without noticing and motorbikes zoomed past.

She lifted her head for a moment then let it fall again as if she had given up. I searched for her mother but she was nowhere to be found. In that moment I wrapped the kitten in my scarf and made a promise that we would bring her back to health.

Since then we have cared for her every day in our Airbnb and watched her slowly return to life. She has become such a funny little character and we have fallen completely in love with her.

She trusts us completely and she simply will not survive again without care and companionship.

But the next part of her journey is the hardest.

Every shelter we contact is already full.

Each day we speak with locals asking them to share her story.

We post in expat groups hoping someone might take her in.

I even took her to the park hoping another mother cat will accept her but it never works.

It seems no one has space for this gorgeous little girl and the chaotic streets are not an option for a kitten this young with no siblings or mother.

We also need to leave Marrakech next week which means time is running out.

Any immediate donations will secure her first month in foster care. We will keep transferring every donation directly to her carers and we will add our own contributions as well.

The vet has explained that she needs to stay in professional foster care for around six months until she can undergo all her procedures. We’ve seen the standard of the foster home and are confident she will thrive there, fed properly, kept safe, and able to socialise with other healthy cats waiting for their chance to go home.

The foster home costs 7 euros per day (approximately 1,260 euros for 6 months) and will provide everything she needs.

When she is ready we will return to bring her home to the United Kingdom or wherever we are at the time and give her the loving safe life she deserves.
