Ovation for Allie: Cancer Support for My Friend and Musician

Hi everyone, my name is Tom, and I'm reaching out with immense hope for one of my closest friends, Allie Altieri. Allie was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Triple Positive Breast Cancer, a revelation that both surprised and changed her world seemingly overnight.

Allie is more than just a friend; she is a sister to me. We've shared every stage of life since we were little kids playing T-Ball at seven years old. We became young musicians together, from singing together in church (and making mischief in school), to pursuing performance in college, and ultimately building careers as performers and teachers. In fact, Allie is the very reason I pursued music in the first place. She helped me find my way to our shared voice teachers, Rick and Giovanna, and ultimately to Interlochen Arts Camp. These experiences shaped our bond and, ultimately, my life outcomes. I am who I am because of her.

Allie's passion for music is infectious, and her talent as a singer and musician is truly remarkable. She, alongside Josh, has cultivated a wonderful music community at Resurrection Parish, touching countless lives. Allie has helped many of us to build meaningful lives. It is our turn to build her up during this difficult time.

An Unexpected Battle, A Comprehensive Plan

While a cancer diagnosis is never easy, we are holding onto optimism. Triple Positive Breast Cancer often responds very well to treatment. To ensure the best results, Allie's medical team is recommending a comprehensive approach including chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and other therapies. This multi-faceted treatment plan, while giving us great hope for her future, also comes with significant financial and physical implications.

Allie is one of the most hardworking people I know. She truly works seven days a week to pursue her passion and support herself. For years, I've told her she needs to make more time for herself.
