Our intercultural performance art collective "The FoOl's Journey Project´" is working hard to bring you a very hands-on experience: An ORACLE for BERLIN #TheJOURNEY.
We are bringing our grand vision to the material realm, inspired by the Ancient Wisdom of two occult traditions to enlighten Berlin's bravest FoOls...
We proudly invite you to be part of an interactive performance based on Tarot that actually works as a real oracle.
We combine ancient spiritual practices like core-shamanism with contemporary artistic expression, including power dances and sonic driving (repetitive drumming) to induce a collective experience of trance through sound and movement.
You won’t need no fancy time-travel device in order to tap into this ancient source of wisdom. Simply make sure you join us this coming October at the former water reservoirs in Prenzlauer Berg.
This underground theatre is the perfect playground for our living game of cards. Its mandala-shaped labyrinth will host 22 Tarot site-specific installations, depicting the cosmology of Tarot.
There, you will be able to enter each card in real space and wander the space as you please, through games of light and shadows, songs and riddles.
Because of its holistic nature, an oracle can only be conceived as a collective creative process by and for its community. To make sure our collective efforts are sustainable, our FoOls need you.
Our FoOls have many roles and come from many places. From performance artists and shamanic practitioners, to set designers and community organisers, we create an experimental and interdisciplinary platform that reflects both the cosmopolitan reality of Berlin and its rich cultural scene.
Because our endeavour is an independent project with no public funding, we welcome any financial contribution and have prepared a set of special rewards as a token of our gratitude.
And so we crunched some numbers and did some maths: we intend to pay our team of creatives decent wages and adding the production costs that occur not only during the performance but also in the months prior to it, we have come to the following figures:
- First goal: 24.000 Euros to cover basic costs: symbolic wages to artists and technicians, renting the place, technical equipment, material for props, etc.
- Second goal of 44.000 Euros: this will allow us to pay everyone involved fairly and give Berlin the performance it deserves.
