An Opportunity to help Ike & Nene Umeadi

Hello, my name is Rich Schwartz. Our family has friends, Ike & Nene Umeadi, who have been a part of our church family for years. We have the added benefit of having them as neighbors only 3 blocks from our house. They have three children, ages ranging from 3 years old to 14 years old.

Thursday, November 30, 2023, Ike's father passed away in Nigeria at 88 years old. He had been battling failing health and had been hospitalized and needed supplemental oxygen for several weeks before his passing. The hospital bills for his father are around $1,800.00. Ike and his wife and their three children plan to fly back to Nigeria for the funeral, which is planned for early January of 2024. Their ticket expenses are around $10,000 for the family. Since Ike is the oldest son in the family, the funeral expenses are mostly his responsibility. He and his family are estimating those expenses may be close to $20,000.00.

On top of all this, Ike got into his car on December 2, 2023, and turned it on, only to hear and feel a very loud noise coming from below. The Independent Street Mechanic Association (car thieves) must have gotten to his catalytic converter during the night. The car expenses were $680, so it could have been worse, but it came at a very bad time.

Nene, a Registered Nurse, injured her shoulder in early 2022, so her work options have been limited for nearly two years. Ike, an Owner/Operator of Eastern CPR, a CPR training company, does not have much in reserve to fund this emergency. We want to help our brother and his wife and family financially in their time of need. Any amount given by you, our extended friends and family, to assist them will be much appreciated.
