A tribute to our blessed Dad and Grandfather

Born in the small village of Herepeia in Hunedoara, Nicu's life blessed everyone around him. An amazing dad, having raised his only daughter by himself since she was 14, he spared nothing in supporting her in everything she did. An awesome grandfather, he invested his life in taking care of his grandkids. A wonderful father-in-law, he will oftentimes help me because of his bottomless knowledge and wisdom. I have always been grateful for his readiness to do things around the house and help us with everything he could.

But more than anything, Nicu was a follower of Jesus. He loved the Lord dearly and would not miss church for anything in the world. Paul says:

"I have fought the good fight,

I have finished the course,

I have kept the faith;

in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. " (2 Tim 4:7-8)

I know God also had NIcu in mind when he wrote these verses.

Altruistic to an extreme, kind and gentle like you would expect a grandpa to be, funny and witty, he brightened our lives for many years. Now, he is with the Lord rejoicing in the presence of the Eternal One, He who loved Nicu so much that he gave his life on the cross for him and all of us. We are looking forward to enjoy our eternity together with him in heaven.

Having gotten sick and lacking on oxygen, we took him to the hospital. After a 5-short day fight with the illness his lungs gave way and he passed to be with the Lord on Sunday.

When we were rushing to the hospital on Sunday morning

- flurries started to dance in front of us - it was no doubt the angels' tears of joy that our beloved Nicu was joining them in heaven.
