An Eye for Ryleigh!
Donation protected
Ryleigh was all by herself when we met. She was very timid, her tail was tucked under, her head was low, but she came up to me and even as shy as she was, followed me on my walk in the high desert. I noticed her “funny” looking eye, and thought that it hurt for sure. I couldn’t leave her, even though I had sworn to not have another dog. I had lost a dog about 9 months prior to our chance meeting and it was devastating. So I took her home. I tried to find her owner through Facebook and Neighborhood. And after 2 days, found the owner, who immediately told me I could keep her if I wanted to. I knew she was dumped. And I had already decided if given the opportunity I would like for her to be a part of my family.
We went to a “Vet in the Park” event where she received her first shots and was chipped for free. We also got the news that her Cherry eye would definitely need surgery and that she had an abdominal hernia. So we took her to the vet, and they agreed that surgery was a must but could be combined with the hernia repair and spaying at the same time. We were also informed that she was not in pain from the Cherry eye so that was a relief. We got an estimate of $1500. Well, it felt like $1,000,000. I’m unemployed and my partner is permanently disabled and receives a very small income. We do not even own a vehicle. I truly cannot imagine life without Ryleigh now. She is happy, confident, loving, curious, a cuddler, she is goofy and funny and has plenty of room to run and explore.
We are asking for a little more than the estimated cost and plan on any excess used as a credit at her Vet for any future visits. We appreciate any size donation for her surgery and request all prayers for her safe and speedy recovery. I am so grateful for Go Fund Me. It has provided us a light at the end of the tunnel. We appreciate so much the sharing of Ryleigh's story so we can get her surgery as soon as possible!
