An Entrepreneurs Journey

Ricardo Reid is a black husband and father of two who recognized a void in the logistics industry. During his 7 year career in the trucking business, he noticed a lack of black drivers (only 16%) and an even smaller percentage of black ownership (less than 10%). Despite trucking being one of the gateways to a middle-upper class income, there are still many barriers for black people looking to get into this industry. Ricky endeavors to help change that. His career as a trucker helped him to turn his life around and his goal in owning and operating would allow him to help other young black families experience the benefits of this kind of work.
Logistics has become more important than ever as we depend on trusted sources to deliver our goods. It is for this reason that he has decided to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to become an owner operator. Starting with one truck, Ricky plans to grow his small business over time into a fleet where he can employ other minority groups in this white male dominated industry. Ricky has already invested in himself through purchasing a truck and funding the education of two drivers of color who he is set to employ this winter.
You have an opportunity through your generous donation to support black business and growth. As we experience this current wave of social movement, it is important to remember the power of black enterprise in our fight. In addition to marching, voting and learning our history; the support of black business is one of the most powerful ways you can show your support.
Your funds will be used to pay for additional costs like insurance, and administrative trucking fees. Ricky is a licensed commercial truck driver with networks across the country and already has orders scheduled to haul. He is fully prepared to take his business to the next level with your generous support. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
We thank you and look forward to serving you in the future!
