An edition of 33 solos for viola d'amore
Donation protected
I'm Thomas Georgi, a retired musician and advocate for the viola d'amore.
The viola d'amore is a curious bowed stringed instrument with features of both the violin and viola da gamba families.
In my 40- year career, I played violin, baroque, and viola in Australia, the USA and Canada, and on tours to Europe and Asia.
I have played the viola d'amore for 32 years.
Music for the viola d'amore is hard to find. In the last three months, I have prepared an edition of 33 solos for the viola d'amore from the late Eighteenth century. These solos have never been played, to the best of my knowledge.
I want these solos to be accessible to all players for free. I will post the pdf edition and supporting materials on my website: An experimental edition
On this page, you can see samples of my edition, links to my recordings of the entire manuscript, and more information about my edition project.
You can view the full edition here: http://violadamore.com/index.php/33-solos-for-viola-d-amore.html.
Any funds raised will compensate me for the preparation of this edition!
