Our independently produced show is about the complexities of money, power, and the modern American Dream, and it has been for the past four years. The show is an anthology series about the hustle, following different, engrossing characters in wild circumstances doing what it takes to win the confidence game.
As young people trying to make it, we feel these are the stories we are compelled to tell. The characters are reflections of us; people trying to succeed despite a system designed for failure. The show is intended for people engrossed by classic narratives with fresh characters, and those who need that push to finally achieve their goals. Our two episodes include these themes, with a scout troop rivalry and a daring heist in an assisted living home.
Episode One: SCOUTS
A small but determined scout troop gets in over their heads when a rivalry goes too far.
Episode Two: BINGO
Bored with her mundane assisted living lifestyle, an older woman orchestrates a drug heist with the help of her aide.
Where are the funds going?
Our show, above all else, prioritizes the comfort of our cast and crew and wants everyone to have an amazing time on set. Your donations will go directly to these departments to help ensure a successful, safe, comfortable, and exciting filming experience! We want this independent production to be successful, and our cast and crew's comfort and safety come first!
FOOD
We are filming for two weekends and will have our cast and crew on set all weekends, meaning we need to provide food! We have always prioritized the well-being of our crew, and having a wide variety of snacks and meals available on our longer filming days is a must. To buy food for film sets of 25 people for six days, we will need your support.
TRANSPORTATION
Transporting people, set pieces, and equipment requires more than public transport. Renting U-hauls is a necessity for our production this semester. Raised funds will go towards getting people from place to place on public transport so that our cast and crew never have to pay for transportation. It is also important that we can get equipment and large set pieces from location to location.
LOCATIONS
Much of our filming must be done on location, and in order to do so we have to compensate the businesses who let us film, sometimes during business hours. We are incredibly grateful for businesses who let us use their spaces, and compensating them is incredibly important to us.
We appreciate any form of support, and thank you for taking the time to learn about our independent show all about the hustle!
