An Animal Caregiver in Need

Geraldine and one of her dogs, Merlin, need our help!
Geraldine is a talented and generous animal trainer and caregiver who dedicates her time to helping challenging dogs, many of whom are in need of homes. She consistently supports PetConnect Rescue (which is how I know her) by working with dogs who are too challenging to be placed in foster homes or to be adopted out. Geraldine also works with other rescue organizations as well as individual pet owners. Those who know Geraldine describe her as having a great love of animals and a huge heart. Geraldine gives out far more than she takes in. The situation she finds herself in now with her rescue dog, Merlin, is no exception to that description.
Merlin is a 6 year old husky/lab mix. In his short life he has been bounced around from shelters, to foster homes, to trainers, and ultimately to Geraldine's home. Although other trainers believed Merlin should be euthanized due to his unpredictable nature, Geraldine met him, thought he had potential, and brought him to her home for further evaluation. She fell for Merlin, adopted him, and he is now one of Geraldine's main tools for training and assisting with other problematic dogs.
Fast forward to July 2018. Merlin blew his ACL. Geraldine loves Merlin and feels he is such a valuable training asset that going forward with the surgery ($3,700) was her only option. Surgery went well, BUT then he blew the second ACL. Now Geraldine is faced with medical bills in excess of of $7,400. This double hit is really a challenge for Geraldine financially but the consulting vet says that once the ACL is repaired, Merlin is set for life.
This GoFund me is set up to help Geraldine offset the costs of caring for Merlin and covering the cost of his surgeries. Please consider helping this amazing woman and the animals she ends up caring for because no one else will.
