In Narumu village, Tanzania, the population is more than 12,000, but only one clinic that doesn't have any equipment. Most women in Narumu give birth at home, some on the dusty rough roadside on the way to the nearest hospital, which is 30 miles (50 km) away. There is no transportation at all from Narumu to the hospital.

About 326 new babies are born to mothers in Narumu each year, but 20 of them will die before reaching one year's birthday, and about two birthing mothers will die because of the condition.

I am Dorothy Mboya, I was born and grew up in Narumu, I founded the nonprofit Tujenge Maisha Inc. to help improve prenatal and postpartum care in Narumu.
I'm trying to raise funds to purchase a second-hand ambulance for my village. With the ambulance, we could save the lives of around 20 babies and two mothers each year!
For the past 50 years in Narumu, the living and medical condition has Not changed at all, therefore this time we are not going to wait for anyone but do it ourselves. Any amount helps, the children and mothers in Narumu are deeply grateful for you!
