Help an Afghan family resettle in the U.S.
Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend, Arzoo, and her beautiful family, who have recently arrived in the U.S. after a harrowing journey.
Arzoo worked for the U.S. Department of Defense in Afghanistan for five years. Because of this, when the Taliban took control last August, she and her family were targeted and had to flee from their home and go into hiding, leaving everything behind. During this time, she waited for her Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) to be processed and, after some close calls, the family was finally able to escape to Pakistan and then to Qatar while they waited for the visa to be issued. They arrived in Virginia a few weeks ago with very few belongings, ready to start their new lives.
Unfortunately, they have been given very few resources and very little support, so I am trying to help them out by raising some money for them so they can furnish their apartment, buy clothes for themselves and their three children, and pay rent until they are able to find jobs.
As you can imagine, this transition is not going to be easy for them, but they are staying positive and hopeful.
I can vouch for Arzoo 100%. She is an amazingly strong and wonderful person. If you are able to help out, anything you can give would be much appreciated. All of the funds will go directly into the family’s bank account.
Thanks, friends. This is the kind of real life stuff we can all do to make a huge impact in the lives of people who have lost so much.
