I recently lost my job as an Academic Advisor. It's the first job I've lost in nearly twenty-five years. I had no idea they would lay me off in the middle of the week in the middle of the month--with no warning or notice. They told me it wasn't my performance. It was the school's budget. While I believe this, it doesn't stop my stomach from turning, wondering what I will do next.
I want to be hopeful about this time, rather than fear driven, but I can't stop thinking about how I'm going to afford rent and bills in the coming months.
There are some projects I'd like to focus on while I apply for jobs. I've been neglecting my manuscript, "The Lookout Chronicles," a memoir about my time as a fire lookout in the Oregon Outback. It's 170 pages. I want to revise chapters and start sending it to publishers as soon as possible. I will finally have the energy and time to pour myself into this. I'd love to see this book become a reality.
I'd also like to start my business, The Heart Path. I want to share stories of those who live their lives by heart and the beauty they share with others by living purpose driven lives. I also want to lead service trips, retreats, pilgrimage, writing workshops, and field trips to assist others in uncovering their heart paths.
Thank you for reading and for your care. I appreciate your support through this transition.
