Beyond Borders: Support for Displaced Palestinians

My name is Ibrahim Abdo. I am an Australian Palestinian, born and raised in Sydney Australia.

For those that are new to my campaign, I travelled to Egypt in May and spent two months working with Palestinian families that escaped the Genocide in Gaza and were seeking refuge in Egypt.

Initially this project was meant to be a one off thing but after coming back to Australia, I knew I had to go back, and Alhamdulilah I've booked my ticket to Egypt and will be leaving in December.

With your help, I hope to raise $15 000 and will be used for:

The below is what I wrote for the campaign before I left in May:

Like you, I have been struggling to feel like I am making any kind of difference for our Palestinian brothers and sisters in Gaza, and one year on, that feeling of helplessness has only gotten stronger.

Over the last year, I have run several fundraisers and collected more than $130 000, posted endlessly on socials, done weekly instagram lives to keep the conversation on Gaza alive, and now, travelling again to Egypt to support forcibily displaced Palestinian families who are seeking refuge in Egypt.

This project means so much to me; I have my own family living in Gaza who are refugees from the 1948 Nakba. Whilst my family have not been lucky enough to escape to Egypt, thousands of other families have, and it's so important we get them the support they deserve.

I am travelling to Egypt in May where I will travel between Cairo and Rafah to support forcibiliy displaced Palestinian families in setting up their new lives.

My project ‘Beyond Borders: Support for Displaced Palestinians’ will:

1. Offer immediate assistance to refugees who are settling in Cairo

2. Pay for essential medical services and healthcare

3. Provide short term housing

4. Empower families with the necessary resources and assistance to rebuild their lives beyond the projects support
