Everyone knows Amy. Everyone loves Amy. She has the biggest laugh and a heart that's even bigger. She's creative, compassionate, entrepreneurial, and one of the best mothers around.
On June 1, 2016, we learned that Amy has breast cancer. Knowing Amy, she will rock this challenge like she rocks everything else! We will continue to update this GoFundMe page with updates of Amy's progress. We appreciate all of your healing thoughts and prayers, and if you feel compelled to donate to Amy's kick-cancer fund, you can do that here too!
UPDATE 6/6/16:
Hello, folks. Last week, we found out that Amy has invasive ductal carcinoma, otherwise known as boob cancer. The "invasive" part means that it has spread to at least one of her lymph glands. We will know more as time moves on, but in any case her treatment plan is pretty much set. She gets her own personal port for Chemotherapy put in on Monday and will be doing that for the next four months. After that, we will be looking at some form of surgery followed by more chemo and possibly radiation. It has been a shock to us. Amy has had a number of benign tumors in the past, so we (including our Dr.) weren't too concerned and just assumed it was another of her lovely lady lumps. If you are due for a mammogram. . .go do it.
Amy is tired, but feeling good and ready to kick some butt. Austen is her sweet self. When we told her she said, "I just know that Mom is going to be really good at this." We have a GREAT community of family and friends and are so thankful for all the support we are receiving.
Please understand if we are a bit slow in responding directly to you. As you can imagine, we have a lot on our plate right now. We will work hard to share any updates here.
