Hello everyone,
My friend Amy recently suffered a serious shoulder injury during training ahead of our BUCS semi-final. MRI results have confirmed that she requires surgery. The procedure she needs is called a Latarjet operation – it’s the only option that will fully repair her shoulder and allow her to return to playing rugby.
This surgery is essential for her recovery and return to contact sport, but unfortunately, it comes at a cost of £10,000 privately or a two-year wait on the NHS which means she will be out for a total of 2 and a half years at least.
Amy has been incredibly proud to formally represent Wales at U20s level (2024) and a Celtic challenge team; Brython Thunder (2024/2025). She’s been involved in sport since the age of five and recently found her passion for rugby. We are reaching out to ask for your support – whether it’s a donation, no matter how big or small, or simply sharing her story on your platforms, would mean the world to her.
We’re organising a teammate/friend fundraiser event! A group of Amy’s teammates and friends will be taking on the challenge of completing a 24-hour relay run. To make things even more fun, everyone will be participating in fancy dress, adding a bit of humour and creativity to the event. We will post Updates on this soon.
As you can imagine, being unable to play the sport she loves has had an impact on her physical and mental wellbeing. As a university student, she’s working hard alongside her studies and saving as much as possible, but this is a goal she simply can’t reach on her own.
Your generosity will help Amy get the surgery she urgently needs, support her full recovery, and give her the chance to continue working towards her future aspirations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can give. Every contribution/ share brings Amy one step closer to getting back on the pitch.
