Amy's Last Chance

Donation protected
For those who don't know Amy, she was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in March 2019 and has been battling her disease now for 2 years.
Amy's cancer presented itself after she experienced severe bleeding, this was before she was to have her first ever routine smear.

At aged 25 Amy's cancer was found. it had not only grown outside the cervix, but spread to the nearby lymph nodes - it was by no means early stage. It has caused her a lot of pain and anguish to know that she has been diagnosed with a preventable cancer, and a cancer that according to the government guidelines, she is 'too young to have'.

Amy has undergone extensive, life altering treatment - both external and internal radiotherapy, chemotherapy, extensive surgery, and finally another gruelling chemotherapy plan.

Despite this, her cancer has returned again and again. All treatment to date has failed.  Amy also had the HPV vaccine as a young girl, but despite all her efforts has now been diagnosed as Stage 4 incurable, and told there is no remission possible for her.

Mine and all of Amy's family and friend's hearts are collectively broken.

Despite all of the heartache and trauma Amy has been through, she has an undeniable zest for life,
Despite losing her own fertility, she wishes pregnant friends well. Amy did not suffer through the loss of her hair, and instead embraced it with a brave smile and a 'it's only hair' attitude.
She is the pinnacle of all that is beautiful in this world.

In her own words,  she would like to stay 'Amy' as long as possible, and 'is not ready to put her weapons down'. She has enrolled on the waiting list for a clinical trial, but it is not certain that she will be a candidate. Amy does not feel that she has the time to wait for uncertainties. At the moment, her cancer is dangerously close to her organs and Amy's fear is that irreversible damage will be caused. Her quality of life is of upmost importance to her and she wants to, at the very least, delay the cancer spreading for as long as she possibly can.

That being said, Amy has great hope and wishes to pursue alternative cancer treatments immediately. She has been following the story of Lynsey Bennett very closely. Lynsey also has incurable cervical cancer and has had great success in Mexico, through these alternative cancer treatments Lynsey has managed to shrink her cancer. Amy would love to raise enough to explore options abroad, but in the meantime wishes to imitate this treatment plan to the best of her ability in the UK, and has found a private clinic in London who will help facilitate this. The more money we can raise, the more options are available to her.

We are not prepared to give up on our beautiful girl.
