Amyloidosis Research via Speedgolf in Japan
My name is Riley Davie, and two years ago my father was diagnosed with the rare disease, Amyloidosis.
Amyloidosis is a group of complex, mostly incurable diseases which are under-recognised and frequently misdiagnosed or diagnosed late. Similar to cancer, patients often undergo chemotherapy to help treat Amyloidosis. It is my goal to raise money to support patients, carers and health professionals, and also to help develop further treatments to prolong the lives of those living with the disease.
As part of my journey to raise money and awareness for the Australian Amyloidosis Network, I will be travelling to Japan to represent Australia in the 2024 Speedgolf World Championships from November 13th to 15th.
In addition to this physical challenge, if successful with my goal of raising $2,000 I will be cutting off my hair which I have been growing for nearly 7 years and donating it to Sustainable Salons who work with organisations to distribute hair to people experiencing hair loss as a result of illness.
Please join me on my journey, donate if you can, and hopefully in 10 weeks time I will be a short-haired, Speedgolf World Champion that raised $2,000 for a cause very close to me and my family's heart ❤️
