Amy's heart surgery fund
Donation protected
Hi Everyone, I am doing a fundraiser for a dear friend of mine, Amy Dorsey. Amy is going to heart surgery to repair her mitral valve on July 21st at Cleveland Clinic. What Amy has is called mitral valve prolapse with severe regurgitation. It's where the valve doesn't close properly and it causes a backflow of blood in the wrong direction towards her lungs. It causes the heart to have to work much harder and if not repaired will create a host of issues including enlarged heart, stroke, heart failure and death. The surgeon at Cleveland Clinic told her she had to have it repaired within three months. Amy’s active lifestyle has been hiding the symptoms and it is now an urgent surgery.
Amy is a personal trainer and has health benefits to cover part of the surgery, but the recovery is 8-12 weeks. During the 8-12 weeks she will be unable to work and unfortunately does not have short term disability to help with her expenses (rent, utilities, etc) during the recovery. I understand and sympathize that everyone has expenses, but I am begging for $5, $50, $100 anything you can give. The donations will allow her peace of mind so that she can focus on recovering and getting stronger and quite honestly, surviving. Amy is trusting in the Lord to get her through this surgery and recovery!!
Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my favorite versus and one I feel is so fitting for both Amy’s health and financial needs.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
