My name is Amy Cerbie. I am a sophomore Vocal Performance major at Western Connecticut State University and frequently make the Dean's List.
It is my dream to study abroad in Salzburg, Austria in the summer of 2018, as it is a very prestigious program that would help me to better myself as a young musician.
Ever since I was a child, I knew I had a passion for singing. I grew up singing in my childhood church, and I now have the honor of being a music intern at FCC in Ridgefield, CT. Being able to share music with others is the greatest gift anyone could ask for. I cherish every moment I have teaching the children's choir at the church.
In September 2017, I was hand selected among several WCSU students to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House in the chorus for the rock opera "Quadrophenia", where I had the distinct honor of sharing the stage with Pete Townshend, Alfie Boe, and Billy Idol.
Help Me Realize My Dream to Study Abroad In Austria
When I was a freshman, I was accepted to the Salzburg program, but I was unable to attend for financial reasons.
The Salzburg Festival officially began on August 22, 1920, and it has long been regarded as one of the world’s most important festival’s for opera, concerts, and dramas, attracting leading performers and audiences from around the world.
The Baroque Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace is considered to be one of the most beautiful and historically significant concert halls in Austria. The Mozart family performed here for Salzburg´s royalty.
Every year FROST School of Music in Salzburg students compete for the chance to sing a public performance in this glorious venue.
This is a program through The University of Miami.
