Artist Amy Ahlstrom's Fire Recovery

Donation protected
My good friend and fellow artist Amy Ahlstrom has been dealt an incredible set back.  This week her art studio caught fire.  The fire broke out in the studio next to hers and the smoke and water from the sprinklers has destroyed much of her artwork, supplies, and her sewing machine.  She is estimating that her total loss is valued at nearly $30,000.

Amy is in shock.

If you are not familiar with Amy's unique work you can check it out here on her site.   This year her artwork also was featured on the cover of ArtSpan's 40th Open Studios Guide Book.  Her medium is delicate urban influenced silk quilts....and the smoke and water has just comepletely destroyed many of her works.

As Amy digs through her studio to see what can be salvaged I feel that we as a community can band around her and help her start to put the pieces back together.  I can't imagine the loss I would face had this happened to my studio.  It breaks my heart.

Now is our chance to do something.  Give Amy a fighting chance to get her art back in gear and get back to work creating the work that she loves.  Your donations will directly support Amy's replacement of materials and tools so that she can create newer vibrant works of art.

I know we can immediately make an impact and suport Amy.  So give today.

Thank you so much for your time and your support.
