Amy's Army (against Lymphoma)

On July 12, 2018, only 8 weeks after giving birth to her youngest daughter, Amy was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.  It's been a medical and emotional whirlwind ever since.

Recent order of events:

May 17- Amy gives birth to her youngest daughter after a difficult and painful pregnancy
May 21- Amy cannot walk much due to excruciating pain in lower back
July 10- Amy's physical therapist recommends immediate MRI
July 12- Amy's MRI reveals cancer and tumor on spine
July 13am- Amy experiences loss of function and feeling in both legs
July 13pm-  Amy undergoes emergency surgery to remove (grapefruit size) tumor on her spine
July 14- Amy begins to regain feeling and function in her legs
July 16- Amy is sent home to recover from surgery and attends daily doctors appointments
July 21- Amy learns that the diagnosis is unfavorable, stage 4 B
August 1- Chemotherapy begins

Amy's faith is unwavering. Her immediate and extended family is offering incredible support to Amy, Matt and their beautiful girls.

...but now, Amy needs an Army to fight this battle

and that's us!

Today begins Amy's first round of Chemotherapy. She will go in for this treatment every 2 weeks for the next 6 months at which point, next steps will be reevaluated.

Though insurance brings some financial relief, the medical bills are adding up quickly with co-pay and "out of pocket" costs. It is anticipated that there will likely be treatments that are not covered by insurance.

Matt and Amy need our financial help.

Donations will be used to cover medical expenses accrued over this time. Your donation will help alleviate the financial stress that cancer treatment brings.

We desire for Amy and Matt to  use their strength to focus on treatment and healing.  So we gather around them to lift the financial burden.

If you know Amy even a little bit, you know that her joy for the Lord and her love for the people around her is undeniable, and it is contagious. She is an incredible wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Thank you for supporting the McClay family during this time of need.
