Help Amy Rabine beat leukemia

Donation protected

Amy McCusker Rabine is a 41-year-old devoted wife and mother.  She and her husband, Jeremy, are the parents of a 12-year-old daughter, Emma.  They live in Chino Valley, AZ.

In the past year and a half, Amy has suffered through Pancreatitis, resulting in the removal of her spleen, gall bladder, and pancreas.  (The excruciating pancreatitis had been undiagnosed for years, resulting in her near death).  Because she no longer has a pancreas, she has a permanent portal (which is a 24-hour-a-day insulin pump to control her diabetes).

If that weren't enough, a few months later she slipped on ice and broke her femur resulting in another long and lengthy hospital and hospice recovery.

At the end of February 2017, she started to get very weak and collapsed at home.  She was taken to a hospital and immediately transferred by helipcoter with internal bleeding to a hospital in Phoenix.  They administered many units of blood.  At that time she nearly died as a result of having only 2 platelets left in her body.  Her doctors have said that she is a "MIRACLE", as they have never seen anyone live with less than 4 platelets.  Amy remained in the ICU for one week with several more transfusions.  Ultimately she was diagnosed with CHRONIC MYELOMONOCYTIC LEUKEMIA.  Prognosis at this time is unknown, but she has a long road of treatment ahead of her.

Starting March 13, 2017, she will have many months of intensive chemotherapy, followed by either a stem cell transplant or a bone marrow transplant.  The transplants will most likely be done at the Mayo Clinic.

This page has been set up to help with on-going and unexpected epenses that will come up.  Since insurance will not cover all of her medical expenses that she will incur, any contribution -no matter the amount-will greatly help.  They are presently struggling to pay the remaining bills from her last two hospital stays; and of course, much more will accumulate.  The bone marrow/stem cell transplant at the Mayo Clinic will be extremely expensive, even with insurance.

If you can contribute anything, the McCusker-Rabine families will be very appreciataive.  If you cannot, they completely understand.  HOWEVER, your PRAYERS for Amy's healing and recovery are most welcome.  WE TRUST IN A GOD OF MIRACLES!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
