Below is a sample image of the table and 2 chairs that have been reserved in Amy’s honor as a memorial at Lauritzen Gardens. The cost is $5,000 which also includes 2 plaques - one for each chair - and the set will be placed on the back patio for as long as the set is usable. We are asking

And, there will be a dedication ceremony at Lauritzen Gardens for this memorial. A notification

HERE IS THE STORY BEHIND THIS MEMORIAL:
Hello Dear Friends & Family of Amy Parr -
We have a wonderful opportunity to honor our special friend!
Amy loved beautiful flowers and botanical gardens as she felt they are ever
growing, timeless and enduring - just like our beautiful friend! Because of this
love, she surrounded herself with them, spending most of her life working for
several florists and also at Lauritzen Gardens. Those of you who have spent time with Amy know that whether you were on a walk, playing in the yard, on a trip etc., Amy would stop every 5 ft to take a picture of a beautiful flower and tell you all about it. On vacations it was a "must do" on her list to stop and tour the local botanical garden.
Knowing this, two of Amy's dear friends, Laura & Tony Espejo, reached
out to Lauritzen Gardens (https://www.lauritzengardens.org/) regarding a gift
honoring her memory. Laura was saddened to learn nothing was currently
available so she and Tony moved on, researching other opportunities for Amy's
friends and family to honor her.
On 2/26/2021 Laura received a call from Lauritzen Gardens letting her know
there was a cancellation creating an opening for a memorial. This is where the
story gets interesting.... As Laura continued her conversation with Lauritzen
Gardens, she learned the cancellation happened to be for a donation in Amy's name, which makes this opportunity even more special! Laura could hardly believe what she was hearing and with tears in her eyes she jumped on the opportunity and reserved it! It was meant to be, and it should be for Amy!
With that, we would love to honor our friend with a table & 2 chairs on the back patio at Lauritzen Gardens as we know Amy would love knowing she is a part of the ever growing, timeless and enduring garden!

cost is $5,000. We are asking anyone who would like to be a part of the tribute
to please donate through this GoFundMe page. Please send whatever amount
you feel comfortable donating. We understand the pandemic has created
hardships for many people and know that in many cases every dollar matters.
Please do not feel obligated to donate - You will still be a part of honoring Amy.
Again, our goal is to raise $5,000 and some additional funds to cover the fees
associated with this page. When we reach our goal, we will work with Lauritzen
Gardens & the Parr Family to create and order the plaques that will be placed
on the table and chairs honoring Amy. Once the plaques are ready, we will plan an informal dedication. FYI - This process could take up to 4 weeks and we will
provide more details once we have a date and time. No worries if you can’t make
the dedication, the chairs and table will be there to enjoy any time.
ALL DONATIONS NEED TO BE MADE BY FRIDAY, MARCH 19th!!!
If there are any additional dollars from this fundraiser, they will also be used
to honor Amy. We are currently working with the Omaha Parks Foundation and
could potentially place an additional bench or tree in one of the many beautiful
parks. We will work with Amy’s family on other options.
Please note, we will keep a list of all donors to this fund as Lauritzen Gardens
would like to recognize them in their newsletter.
