Amy Mills (Samba) PR Visa
Spende geschützt
My name is Amy Mills and I am applying for a Distinguished Talent visa to gain Australian Permanent Residence.
I recently applied for a Employer Nominated visa but it was refused due to missing paperwork. Unfortunately, regardless of the result of the decision, I still have to pay for that application as well as the lodgement of a new visa application if I am to remain here in Australia.
I was born and raised in the USA and have been fortunate enough to make a life for myself here in Sydney for the past 13 years. On a weekly basis, I get to share my passion for dance and fitness with so many people through my classes and rehearsals at Crunch Fitness and Latin Dance Australia. My background in dance is varied and I have always loved to move, dance and sing. In shcool I played volleyball, was the captain of my cheerleading team and competed with the track and field team. I was a Performing Arts major at Lane Community College in Oregon, with music and more specifically opera as my focus. Over the years I have gained experience in many styles including cheerleading, musical theatre, break dancing, Ukrainian folk dance, Polynesian dance, belly dancing, I was even a magician’s assistant! The last 11 years have consisted more of Latin and Brazilian styles: Salsa, zouk, bachata, merengue, samba de gafieira and my special favorite Samba no Pé.
Over the past 9 years, my dancing, my teams and my students have taken priority and really become my life. I have coached intermediate to advanced student teams, a Samba Show Team for hire and my Pro Team who holds 3 national dance championship titles. I perform and teach at events both in Australia and internationally performing for audiences ranging from the Queen of Malaysia, Football Federation Australia, Channel 7, the Australian TV audience, the opportunity to go overseas to entertain the Australian Federal Police and Australian Army in the Solomon Islands to countless weddings, birthdays, promotional events, corporate functions, and both public and industry festivals. Here are a couple of links to performance and competition videos:
Australian Salsa Open, Solo 2014
Sydney Latin Festival, Student & Pro Teams 2016
My goal is to raise $7,600 to cover the cost of my visa applications, my deadline to pay this amount is 21 November 2016. As a dance & fitness professional, I my income is not significant, I do this work for the love of it and for the difference it makes in people's lives. Raising this money will mean the world to me; it will mean the life and career I've built, the connections I've made with my students and gym members and in my personal life will continue.
Although my whole family is still in the USA and we miss each other more than words can express, they support me. I hope to continue my dancing, teaching and life here in Australia and to find and create opportunities to reach and share dance, movement and freedom with more people. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you in advance for your time and consideration of my cause.
