Hey! I’m Tina and asking for you to help a brave and beautiful 17 year old girl who is very dear to me. Amy is facing an unimaginable challenge. Recently diagnosed with bladder cancer, an extremely rare cancer for someone of her age, she has already undergone two rounds of surgery. Her next surgery will require her to travel to Melbourne for a major operation to remove her bladder and construct a new one. It’s a life-altering procedure that marks the beginning of a long journey.
At just 17 she should be focused on school, friends and dreams for the future. Instead, she’s navigating hospital corridors, surgical recovery, and consultations with specialists. Her diagnosis came as a shock, and her courage since then has been nothing short of inspiring. Despite enduring two surgeries already, her fight is far from over.
The next step is a complex surgery to remove her bladder and build a new one. A procedure that will require expert care and long-term support.
As she prepares for this next chapter, Amy will be working with a team of specialists including:
Fertility experts to preserve her future options,
physiotherapists and exercise physiologists to help her build regain strength, psychologists to support her mental health, urologists and cancer specialists for ongoing cancer care.
Amy will require lifelong follow-ups, monitoring and support to ensure the cancer doesn’t return and she can live the fullest life possible.
We need your help to raise funds to help cover travel and accommodation costs for surgery in Melbourne, specialist consultations and therapies, ongoing medical expenses and follow-up care, support services to help her and her family through this journey.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, we appreciate you sharing this campaign to help us reach others who can.
Thank you for reading Amy’s story. Your kindness and generosity will help her face this challenge with hope, strength, and the support she needs to heal and thrive.
With gratitude and love
