On Sunday April 28 Amy Fanning, a healthy and active 46 year old, collapsed in the early afternoon due to a pulmunary embulisom. She was rushed to Perth hospital and then transferred to KGH ICU. That night they did surgery to remove the blood clots from her lungs that had caused her collapse earlier that day. Unfortunately it was learned through many tests that the reason for the blood clots was liver cancer that has metastasized to her bone. Amy remains in ICU on intubation and support until she is well enough to breathe on her own. Once she has recovered from the intial blow, she has a fight ahead of her to beat the cancer.
Amy and her husband Jason have been married for 28 years. Together, they have 4 children and happily live outside of Westport with their chickens and bees. Amy is an amazing baker that makes the most terrific meals and loves being at the lake. Anyone that knows Amy, knows that she is a quiet person. She is the type of person to do things on her own and take care of her family. However, Jason has rarely left her side and she is unable to work and will not be able to work for quite some time. They have additional medical and travel expenses now on top of their already regular expenses while not working. This is why we would like to start this GoFundMe to support Amy and Jason as they work through this horrible phase of their life.
