Amy Colonna Remillard's Transplant
Donation protected
My foster sister Amy was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was 6yrs old. Back then it was a death sentance. But Amy is a fighter and a teacher to everyone she meets, by setting an example of how to live fully each day. Amy has been diagnosed with diabetes, end stage kidney disease, and end stage CF. A double lung transplant saved her life 10 yrs ago. Now she needs a pancreas and kidney! Her transplant has kept her alive, but the financial burden of daily anti-rejection meds is overwhelming. Another transplant means more debt which is why I'm reaching out for help. Amy has given talks to educate people about our health care system, she has written a book, and is a patient advocate. I believe that she continues to beat the survival odds because we need positive people like her to show us all how to live.
(In the photo Amy is the little one on the left, she's wearing a lovely wig, due to hairloss from some meds. but doesn't she look beautiful!)
