Little legends running 5km to raise money for Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Some words below from Zac and the video of the event for anyone who hasn’t seen it.
We have all have been absolutely blown away by the incredible generosity, kindness, and support from everyone who has donated, shared, and cheered us on. When Darby and Susan McMunn started this, we never imagined the sheer outpouring of love we would receive—it’s been nothing short of extraordinary. From close friends to those who only know us a little (or even not all), we thank you so much for your generosity.
A special shout-out to our little legend nephew, Darby, whose big heart and little legs kicked this whole thing off. Who knew a 7-year-old’s idea to run 5km would turn into such a succesful fundraising event?! A truly incredible effort. And of course, to Susie, who supported it all from the start and was the mastermind of the event, along with the big brother who has a (giant) heart filled with everything good. Thank you for rallying the troops and making this happen.
To everyone who has donated—whether it was a little or a lot, every single contribution means the world to us. You are helping us face the road ahead with a little less worry and a lot more hope (and for that, we are eternally grateful) and raising important funds to combat brain cancer.
As always, blown away by Amy Munn who managed to run a 5km despite weeks of juggling hospital visits, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery recovery, and still being the best wife and mum. We love you!
Much love to you all and a thousand times thank you,
Zac, Amy, Ernie, Fin and Maggie
Our beautiful Sister-in-law Amy was diagnosed with Brain Cancer 5 years ago. Over those 5 years she has achieved incredible things, outlived her prognosis and shown so much courage. In December she received the news that her brain tumour had returned.
On hearing this news Darby (7) told us he wanted to run 5km to raise money for his Aunty Amy and brain cancer. When Darby told Amy about his idea, she replied in true Amy spirit. With brain surgery scheduled in for days later and the prospect of radiotherapy and chemotherapy ahead of her she immediately replied ‘I want to run with you.’ As did Amy’s oldest two children Ernie (10) and Finn (9) and other kids in the family: Oakley (13) and Griffen (7).
The aim is to complete the run in the next few months depending on Amy’s treatment and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible before then. 50% of funds raised will go directly to Brain Cancer research and 50% of funds will go towards covering the costs of Amy’s treatment, time off work etc.
If you are able to help this family in any way it will be truly appreciated. Thankyou.
