Wij hebben jouw hulp heel hard nodig. Voor een groot 24-uurs protest dat zal plaatsvinden op 15-16 november in Amsterdam willen wij zoveel mogelijk tenten kopen als mogelijk is. Met dit protest en door middel van de tenten willen wij de aandacht vestigen op de situatie van de vluchtelingen die onder vreselijke omstandigheden vastzitten in kampen op de Griekse eilanden. Wij roepen met dit protest de Nederlandse overheid en de Europese Unie op om alle vluchtelingen op de Griekse eilanden te evacueren en een humane opvang te bieden verspreid over de Europese landen.
De tenten zullen na het protest worden gedoneerd aan vluchtelingen in Calais, Frankrijk. In Calais is er een grote behoefte aan tenten, omdat veel gevluchte mensen daar op straat slapen en de politie regelmatig spullen inneemt. De tenten zullen worden gedoneerd aan de organisaties Care4Calais en Moving Stones, die zich bezig houden met het bieden van noodhulp aan vluchtelingen in Calais. Moge het duidelijk zijn: ons standpunt is dat niemand op straat in een tent zou moeten slapen en al helemaal niet voor langere tijd. Wij zijn echter wel voorstanders van het bieden van noodhulp, waar deze tenten onderdeel van zullen zijn.
Wie zijn wij?
Wij zijn een groep die bestaat uit verschillende organisaties en activisten die opkomen voor de rechten van vluchtelingen. Wij hebben de handen ineen geslagen om een groot politiek statement te maken. Onder andere SOSMoria, bekend van de noodoproep van 7000 artsen en 50.000 andere bezorgde mensen om de kampen op de Griekse eilanden te evacueren en No More Morias, die in september een grote demonstratie in Amsterdam heeft georganiseerd n.a.v de branden in Moria zijn onderdeel van deze groep.
Ook zijn wij aangesloten bij de overkoepelende beweging Europe Must Act, die zich inzet voor de evacuatie van alle vluchtelingen op de Griekse eilanden. Op de dag van het protest in Amsterdam zullen in verschillende Nederlandse en Europese steden soortgelijke acties plaatsvinden. Hierover volgt binnenkort meer informatie.

We are in great need of your help. For a large 24-hour protest that will take place on November 15-16 in Amsterdam, we want to buy as many tents as possible. With this protest and by means of the tents, we want to draw attention to the situation of the refugees who are stuck in terrible conditions in camps on the Greek islands. With this protest, we call on the Dutch government and the European Union to evacuate all refugees on the Greek islands and to provide humane reception throughout the European countries.
The tents will be donated to refugees in Calais, France after the protest. There is a great need for tents in Calais, because many refugees sleep on the street there and the police regularly confiscates belongings. The tents will be donated to the organizations Care4Calais and Moving Stones, which are engaged in providing emergency aid to refugees in Calais. Let it be clear: our position is that no one should sleep in a tent on the streets, and certainly not for a long time. However, we are in favor of providing emergency relief, which these tents will be part of.
Who are we?
We are a group consisting of various organizations and activists who stand up for the rights of refugees. We have teamed up to make a major political statement. Among others, SOSMoria, known for the emergency call of 7,000 doctors and 50,000 other concerned people to evacuate the camps on the Greek islands and No More Morias, who co-organized a large demonstration in Amsterdam in September after the fires in Moria, are part of this group.
We are also a part of and affiliated with the movement Europe Must Act, which is committed to the evacuation of all refugees on the Greek islands. On the day of the protest in Amsterdam, similar actions will take place in various Dutch and European cities. More information about this will follow shortly.
