My daughters wish

My name is Deborah, in September 2024 my daughter Donna and her partner Rob fell pregnant with their first child. Throughout her pregnancy she suffered with ill health and spent most of her pregnancy at the GPs or in bed. In April 2025, I rang an ambulance for Donna due to the severe upper abdomen pain becoming unmanageable. Donna was blue lighted to hospital, she had developed multiple-organ failure, sepsis and diagnosed with severe pancreatitis. Donna was critically ill which meant as her mother, I needed to sign the consent form for Donna to have an emergency c-section whilst under general anaesthetic.
Donna was then taken to Critical Care and remained in an induced coma. Whilst in a coma Donna was placed on dialysis, had multiple blood transfusions and remained on critical medications to keep her alive.
Donna’s sedation was stopped and Donna woke up to being completely blind and unaware of past events. Donna and her son spent over 6 weeks in hospital. Her son Hudson was born 29 weeks 5 days and is now doing amazingly well. Donna on the other hand has been through the mill. Due to the severe pancreatitis which meant the removal of her gallbladder. Donna has been left with walled-off necrosis and cysts and is now registered as severely vision impaired/blind.
Due to this never happening before, Donnas case is very rare, which means medical experts are unsure of the next step. We have been advised by the neuro-ophthalmologist consultant to research what equipment we can buy to help Donna with the little vision she has left.
Most case studies have been done in America as there have been a few similar cases there. We are looking into AI glasses but prices start at £5000. Donna and Rob are also planning to travel overseas for further help and advise.
Our aim is to raise as much money as possible so Donna can have the equipment she needs to allow her to see her son for the first time.
Prior to this Donna was a very independent woman with over 10 years experience as a Critical Care nurse and also worked in a car garage but now due to sight loss Donna has lost her driving license and her career is questionable.
As a family we would like to ease the financial stress by setting up this GoFund me page and with your help make my daughter wish come true.
