A few months ago, my wife and I invited a young homeless woman into our home so she would have a safe and secure place to live. In that time, she has regained some of her health and is ready to go out on her own.

As you may know, getting started takes some initial money for deposits, the first month's rent, furniture, housewares, etc. My wife and I have helped this woman with things like clothing and basic hygiene supplies, but we don't have enough to complete this next step.

I'm sure you're wondering about this woman by now. So here's her story.

She had a fairly normal childhood until the age of 14. That's when she was assaulted by a man who stole her innocence. Prior to that, she hadn't even kissed a boy. This started a downhill path in her life that included being trafficked by men who sold her body to people, followed by several relationships with men who treated her like a piece of property they owned. She has made attempts to get out on her own before, but the men in her life sabotaged those efforts.

She's rid of those men now and sees what they had done to her. She wants to be healthy. She's pregnant and wants to give her unborn child a safe and secure life. She just needs a little help getting started and I believe she has the skills and attitude to be successful.
